FAQs

To help you better understand the nomination process, as well as learn a little bit more about what it means to serve on the FMS Board of Directors, we have compiled answers to some of our most frequently asked questions.

The nominating committee looks for individuals that are passionate about playing an active role in maintaining and/or creating FMS’ strategic direction, goals, and values. The committee will also take into consideration your previous involvement with FMS, either as a local or national volunteer, or as an active member and user of FMS’ products and services, as well as review your leadership experience.

The FMS Board of Directors plays a leading, proactive role in making the most important decisions regarding the future and growth of FMS. As the governing body of the organization, the board determines the strategic framework that guides FMS’ planning, operations, and strategy to ensure growth and alignment with its vision for the future.

The FMS Board of Directors meets face-to-face twice a year: in June in conjunction with The FMS Forum, our annual conference; and in November in Chicago. The board also meets twice via conference call during the months of March and September. In addition to these meetings, members of the FMS board, will be involved in various ongoing discussions/projects concerning FMS’ strategic direction on an as needed and volunteer basis.
