The Financial Managers Society is governed by a 17-person Board of Directors, composed of:

• Four Executive Committee Members (Chairman, Vice Chairman, Immediate Past Chairman, and President)
• Nine Directors-at-Large
• Four Advisory Council Chairmen (from the Accounting, Finance, Strategic Issues, and Internal Audit Councils)

All positions, with the exception of the four the council chairs and the President, who are appointed, are elected by the membership.
