Overview

Designed by financial institution CFOs for financial institution financial managers, this week-long School goes beyond the basics to present best practices and provide community financial institution financial managers with the tools to build a solid foundation in asset/liability management. Faculty
Tom Farin - Program Coordinator
President, Farin & Associates, Inc.

Tom Farin is the Program Coordinator for the Financial Managers School. He is a widely known banking industry lecturer and consultant and proactively pursued the development of this new School. He has delivered national educational programs for the American Bankers Association and the Credit Union National Association and serves on the faculty of the Graduate School of Banking at Wisconsin and the CUNA Management School in Madison, WI. Tom has also been a featured speaker at a number of regional programs sponsored by state and regional trade associations. He is the author of three separate books on financial institution asset/liability management, as well as a popular asset/liability newsletter.


Jeff Goble
Executive Vice President and Director, UMB Bank's Bond Advisory Service

Jeff Goble is a member of UMB Bank's Funds Management Committee and also serves on the Management Committee of the Investment Banking Division. Jeff authored the bond portfolio management section of the ABA's publication, Toolbox For The Future, and writes a bimonthly investment advice column for Bank News Magazine. Jeff is a frequent speaker at numerous national, regional, and state banking association programs and currently serves on the faculty and Academic Committee for the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.


Dave Koch
COO, Farin & Associates, Inc.

Dave Koch is a frequent speaker on interest-rate risk management and works closely with financial institution executives to help find creative solutions to their challenges. Prior to joining Farin & Associates he worked with a mid-western consulting firm, assisting financial institutions in the development of asset/liability procedures, policies and measurement systems. Dave has over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry and currently serves on the faculty for the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.


Karl Nelson
President & CEO, KPN Consulting

Karl Nelson is the President and CEO of KPN Consulting, an organization engaged in the ALCO, Funding, and Liquidity arena. His career has included positions as Director of Industry and Governmental Relations with Silverton Bank, President and Chief Marketing Officer of Institutional Deposits Corp (SR), and National Market Development Director for Promontory Interfinancial Network where he worked on national marketing strategies for the CDARS program.
