Strategic Cost Reductions are Key to 2021 Bank Survival

The pandemic of 2020 has left us operating in uncharted territory filled with market uncertainty, compressed interest margins, and looming credit defaults on the horizon. Effective cost control is going to be key in 2021 to address budget shortfalls and ensure long term viability for banks. Since 2008 banks have cut expenses using traditional tactics and brought pre-pandemic efficiency ratios to historic lows. With normal avenues of tactical expense reduction tapped out, banks are looking at activity-based cost modeling to find new insights that lead to strategic cost control. In this webinar, Scott Wise, author of Actionable Profitability Analytics discusses the fundamentals of activity-based costing and the areas of opportunity to apply it effectively to rebound in 2021.
